Resolve Your Dog’s Behavior Problems

A behavior problem usually isn’t a “problem” for the dog. It is generally a behavior that dogs naturally do. However, sometimes a dog’s behavior can become a problem for people. Fortunately, we can help dogs understand what is expected and modify their behavior so that they become well-mannered family members.

As a behavior counselor, these are some of the problems I routinely help dogs overcome.

Dog showing behavior problems
  • Play-biting (Mouthing)
  • Chewing
  • Jumping
  • Barking
  • Housebreaking
  • Separation Anxiety
  • Fearfulness
  • Accepting a New Child or Pet
  • Chasing Bikes, Cars, Kids, Cats
  • Digging
  • Obsessive Behavior
  • Aggression

My methods can be applied to any behavior problem so don’t hesitate to call if you don’t happen to see your dog’s particular issue listed here.

The Behavior Consultation

After thoroughly discussing the situation with you (and your family) and meeting your dog during our consultation, I will customize a behavior modification program for you. Classical and operant conditioning will be used to change your dog’s undesirable behaviors. The process will be explained in a manner that is easy to understand and implement.

When determining the possible causes for the behavior, I consider such things as diet, exercise, environmental stimulus, breed characteristics, prior socialization and medical conditions as possible contributing factors. If the situation warrants, I will work closely with your veterinarian to help resolve your dog’s behavior problem.
